Orange County Computer Celebrates 25 Years of Success as a Technology Solutions Provider!

This year marks a very special milestone for Orange County Computer, Inc. as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary! We truly have been blessed with the opportunity to work with such an incredible group of clients over the last 25 years. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work with you!

How did it all start?: Computer Support, Network Management, and Design Services

Alex founded Orange County Computer in 1998, offering On-Site Computer Support, Network Management and Website Design Services. As technology needs and resources evolved, as did the company. In 2006, we opened our first Tech Repair Center in Lake Forest, which was open to clients and the general the public for convenient drop-off and pick-up of system repairs. The popularity of the Tech Repair Center allowed greater flexibility for both support and repair, creating the service model we continue to follow today. The following year in 2007, we launched our Managed Services Division, thus allowing our team to further meet the growing needs of our clients. Technology was, as it is today, ever-changing… and so were your needs. One of our top priorities was to educate our clients about the importance of dedicated IT management, workstation support, data storage and cybersecurity.

With the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in 2010, significant technology requirements changed for healthcare and finance. Technical compliance was now a real thing! Coincidentally, this was also at the time when “The Cloud” and “Cloud Computing” were unknown buzzwords that most people ignored outside of the tech world, with IT professionals all scrambling to jump on the train early on (the first use of the word “Cloud Computing” was used in modern context in late 2006). The introduction stages of Cloud Computing left clients confused and excited at the same time. Once again, we continued to grow and expand our services during the infancy stages of providing Cloud Solutions, which was more commonly referred to back then as “Off-Site Back-Up”, “Virtualization” and “Data Center Colocation”. Our service offerings continued to change with technology as we began to decommission physical on-premise servers for clients and host entire company networks in our data centers. This was the birth of our Cloud Services Division – OC Cloud9! Numerous changes and shifts in our offerings have taken place over the years and that will always be the case. Orange County Computer will continue to advance our service offerings and enhance your company experience towards greater collaboration and productivity in 2023 and beyond.

Where to now?: Expanding Technology Solutions

COVID lockdowns allowed us to showcase the importance of scalability and flexibility in the workplace, which had been a long-established solution Orange County Computer had offered. The aftermath of this technical scramble forced many of you to heavily rely on the architecture that you had luckily designed and implemented with us! The hybrid workplace proved to be a long-term solution for some clients – the use of our Cloud Solutions allowed many of you to on-board additional remote employees to further strengthen your businesses.

While the cornerstone of Orange County Computer will always offer Cloud Solutions and Security, moving forward our focus will center heavily on Cybersecurity and Advanced Threat Protection, both On-Premise and in the Cloud. Our team strives to be two steps ahead of any threat actors that want to harm your business. In 2023, we continue to expand upon our services by offering comprehensive security programs such as 2FA/MFA (Two-Factor and Multi-Factor Authentication), Hot/Cold/Reserved Capacity Cloud Storage, Enterprise Antivirus/Ransomware Protection, Custom Hybrid Cloud Services for continued business productivity, Enterprise Back-Up Solutions, Regulatory Compliance and Cyber Protection.
