Windows 10 Operating System will be released on July 29
The Windows 10 Operating System is coming and should be the fix to all the woes of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. It may be everything that Windows 8 lacked. Here at the Orange County Computer Tech Repair Center, we have downgraded many of our clients from Windows 8 to Windows 7 and others waited until Windows 8.1 came out which fixed some of the irritations of Windows 8. We consistently have customers tell us about how much they missed the start button and a slightly more user friendly desktop experience. Windows 10 has brought back the start button and it surpasses the glory of the Windows 7 start button. Our techs have been using the RTM, release to manufacturers version and love it. It’s a blend of both the best part of Windows 7 and 8.1, customizable by size and preference. It’s fabulous!
Windows 10 will be a free upgrade to anyone using Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1. This is a first for Microsoft. Normally you have to pay for upgrades to a new Operating System unless you recently purchased a system a few months prior to release. However, Apple has been doing this for years. So how do you know if you are eligible for the free upgrade? A small newer style Windows icon may be in your taskbar by your clock. If so, you can upgrade to the Windows 10 operating system for free.
Microsoft’s latest operating system has many improvements, including: The all new Internet Explorer (Edge), HoloLens (Virtual Reality Headset), Surface Hub (a surface tablet the size of a TV), and Cortana (Virtual assistant from the original Halo games). Windows 10 (like all other versions of Windows) is based off Windows NT technology, the core of Windows. Windows 10 comes with Xbox Live – it allows you to play most Xbox One games directly in Windows 10 (if your computer is fast enough). Something new with Windows 10 (unlike all other versions of Windows) is that it is rolled out as a “service” – What does this mean? It means all updates are seamless, and all and any new features you get for free, based on the life of your device.
Because Orange County Computer, Inc. is a Microsoft Partner, our Technical Team has access to beta versions of all Microsoft Applications for testing. The feedback we are getting from our technicians is an enthusiastic “thumbs Up”. They love the new Virtual Desktop feature, as they can be working on just about anything, all at once. Windows 10 now fully optimizes itself, no pesky popups any longer.
